The Good Shepherd- A Christian Parable

In year one, we had a R.E. visitor who came to speak to us about the Christian Religion. During a lovely circle time she told us about, “The Parable of the Good Shepherd”. The children listened closely as she spoke about how Jesus took care of his herd of sheep and made sure that they were safe from harm. The children then created a piece of art that illustrated the parable.
What to do if there is a fire? By 1D
This is a video that the children created, made the props, filmed and completed by themselves. they worked together to make a film for the reception children coming to year one next year. The children were very excited to create the video and as a result sometimes they needed to take a few recordings of each scene. Overall the children did a really great job. I was very proud of them. Enjoy the show!

Measuring with rulers in centimeters
The children have been learning how to measure using rulers. First the children measured using uni fix cubes. They then began to measuring items using their hands. Finally they were introduced to measuring with a ruler using centimeters. They enjoyed measuring different items in the classroom that were bigger then 10cm and less then 10cm. The children were really involved in the lesson, as you can see from the pictures.

Bethnal Green Toy Museum
The children really enjoyed the trip to the Bethnal Green Toy Museum. The coach ride was an fun experience and by the end of the day the children had a little sleep on the way back to school. We saw lots of fun and exciting toys from the past. The children were amazed at how the old toys were all made of metal and wood. The boys in the class really liked looking at the old cars and the action figures. The girls were drawn to the fancy dolls and old prams. Overall the day was very enjoyable for all.
